Planes, trains, and automobiles. Okay, maybe I should say limousine, horse and buggy, vintage car, or party bus. Whatever mode of transportation you choose, make sure you have an iron clad plan to ensure everyone is on time. Questions you need to consider prior to planning your transportation route:
1. Who needs to be picked up
2. Who will be the point of contact
3. What is the easiest route
4. Will one vehicle be enough
A “smooth ride” will be guaranteed if you have your planner or designated point person confirm all of the details a couple of days prior to your wedding. While confirming those details, make sure you request the cell phone number of the driver (s) and provide them with yours as well. In the event the driver gets lost, make sure the planner is able to provide the driver with directions to the pick-up/drop location. You should also test drive the routes to get a better idea of the pick-up times; this will help the planner create the schedule.
Things to consider on the wedding day: reserve some parking spaces for the bridal party/parents providing their own transportation and make sure you call the transportation company 20-30 minutes prior to their scheduled arrival to ensure they are on time. An inexperienced transportation company can affect the schedule of the entire day!
