A beautiful spring wedding at Portofino Bay Hotel –
Remembering When Event Planning’s lead designer, Tamuel Cowart was hired a few weeks prior to the wedding to pull together the décor, ambiance, and entertainment for Rhonda and Robert Buckner. They were planning a simple wedding for close family and friends while being serenaded by two Grammy-Award winning artists (she was all smiles when she told me that she would have a member of a legendary band as well as a Motown legend perform during the ceremony and reception in lieu of a disc jockey – as if it were nothing 
) When Rhonda walked into my office and explained this to me the first thing I thought – I must have written down the wrong year, her wedding can’t be 3 weeks away… but it was.
She gave us total creative control over the entertainment and décor then stepped aside. She was working with a floral designer which made it easy to tweak the flowers to compliment the black chivari chairs, black chargers, and merlot pin-tucked linens (special thanks to Rashida at BBJ Linens), custom menu cards, and tons of little details.
I loved the array of exotic flowers she selected for her bouquet - especially the fiji mums!
